Critical Analysis

May 17, 2009
In the midst of this frankly, really boring summer, I've started making plans and adjustments to the band for our next run starting this coming Fall. As some of ya'll know, I really want to include the thoughts and opinion of audience members like yourself in the decision making process. It's my job to keep ya'll happy and every happy relationship requires communication.
I've created this 10 question survey kind of as a performance review of myself and to get some ideas from ya'll as to where ya'll would like to see The Way Out Is Through go. The whole thing should take maybe 5 minutes and it'd be a huge help to us.

Winding Things Down For The Summer...

April 13, 2009
As yall know by now I sign all the musicians I have on the live version of the band for a predetermined period of time. At the end of this month the contracts I have with Zach Shaw, Andy Renard, Esteban Garcia, and Dan Gilbert will all be running out. This doesn't by any stretch of the imagination mean that The Way Out Is Through is over.

All this means is that, the semester is almost over and since we're all going to be spread to the winds it's going to be a little difficult getting everyone...

They Just Keep Rolling In...

April 1, 2009
And we love them for it! Check out another good review of Bandages at The Indie Music Stop!

"This band likes to use change of pace to give the songs roller coaster like thrills. Listening to this EP is like trying to eat an unlabeled box of chocolates, because each song is different, so you never know what to expect-, which is a good thing. Too often today bands want to put out releases that are filled with the same song changed only slightly done over-and-over again....With this EP, The Way O...

The%20Way%20Out%20Is%20Through

As most of you know I recently unveiled the new project that I've been working on, The Way Out Is Through, and the subsequent release of Bandages, it's debut EP. In the process of promoting the album I was wracking my brains for ways to make sure that this project is easily accessible to everyone, and that I have the easiest means possible to find new listeners while hanging onto / keeping track of / informing whatever audience I might alright have.

Most of you may have guessed by now that I'm...

Portland Phoenix Reviews Bandages!

March 26, 2009

"In its bipolar embrace of Elliot Smith quiet dissonance and Stiv Bators cacophonous sloppy rock, Bandages feels rapped on the knuckles, having constantly reached for a cookie jar of sounds that might spoil its dinner. "
-Sam Pfeifle, The Portland Phoenix, 3/25/09

Not Bad For A Band That's Only Been Playing Live For A Month...

March 26, 2009
It's the worst kept secret on campus, but I'm very happy to announce that The Way Out Is Through will be playing the same show as Guster on April 7th at Clark University's Spree Day.

Album Notes: Necronomicon

March 24, 2009
Every week I release a song I'll be releasing some album notes on it. Keep in mind that this is only what the song means to me and I don't want to have any influence on what the music means to you. If Endorphin reminds you of washing the dishes, so be it. If it reminds you of doing that crazy party you went to or makes you feel like a sumo wrestler is sitting on your chest, awesome. Keep that. The only reason why I write these is for the sake of curiosity and so that a couple years from now I...

March 21, 2009

"I am actually getting rather fed up of terrible music (in my opinion, of course) I get sent to me on a daily basis, so it was a refreshing changed to listen to this record." Sarah Glover, 3/21/09, Soul Drift Music Blog
