As yall know by now I sign all the musicians I have on the live version of the band for a predetermined period of time. At the end of this month the contracts I have with Zach Shaw, Andy Renard, Esteban Garcia, and Dan Gilbert will all be running out. This doesn't by any stretch of the imagination mean that The Way Out Is Through is over.

All this means is that, the semester is almost over and since we're all going to be spread to the winds it's going to be a little difficult getting everyone together for a gig. This break will also give me some time to think about any lineup changes I want to make to the band, write some new music, etc. So unless an extraordinary opportunity comes along I don't think we'll be playing any live shows until October-ish. Then again, who knows, again I'm waiting back to hear from a couple of really awesome opportunities and if all goes well you might just be seeing us.

This also doesn't mean that you shouldn't keep checking back. The guys and I recorded a live version of a new song called Apocalypse which I hope to put up for free download on Reverbnation.com as a reward for people who sign up for our mailing list. I haven't heard a final mix yet but from what I heard a couple weeks ago, it sounds really cool and I'm positive yall are going to enjoy it.

A brief recap of things we've accomplished so far in the ONE MONTH that The Way Out Is Through has been active...
  • Rated in the top 5% of Alternative Rock bands on Reverbnation.com
  • Released our debut EP Bandages (for free download at our Myspace) to really good reviews from such sources as Snob's Music Blog and The Portland Phoenix (I'm expecting a good couple more as time goes on.)
  • Played our first gig at Atwood Hall, a stage that has held such acts as Talib Kwali and Jimi Hendrix.
  • Played our third show on the same bill as Guster.
And that's just to name a few! To everyone that came out to our first three shows in the past couple of weeks, thank you so much for supporting us and we definitely look forward to playing for you this Fall.

Thanks again and don't forget to keep checking back for updates!
